Equatorial regions which receive straight rays of the sun occupy less space and heat received is more.Polar regions receive slant rays of the sun occupy larger space but the heat received is less.<\/p><p><strong>(2) What is the relation between the latitudinal extent and temperature of a region?<br \/>Ans:<\/strong><\/p><p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (1) 0\u00b0 and 23\u00b0 30\u2032 North and South perpendicular rays. Temperatures are higher throughout the year.<\/p><p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (2) 23\u00b0 30\u2032 and 66\u00b0 30\u2032 North and South receive extreme slant rays.
